I love making mixtapes. I'm not sure what the best part is though. Scouring for hours for the perfect blend of young and old. Figuring out the perfect order; should you hide the main theme track in the middle, or give it away up front? The album artwork in the post-digital cases. Or, it just may be knowing that I've made someone's day. Or ruined it? Depends on the mix I guess.
These days, I make them mostly for me, but then they lose the illustrious element of surprise. Don't radio DJ's have the best job in the world? They get to make mixtapes for thousands of listeners every day. I miss that job. Because I can't do that (right now) I'll make you one if ya ask real nice.
